2 Bangladeshis killed in Malaysia road crash

Two Bangladeshis were killed while two others suffered injuries in an accident that involved three vehicles at the North South Expressway, near Tapah in Malaysia, on Monday morning.

During the 6.15am accident which involved a lorry, trailer and a car, Delohar Hossin Md Raju Miah, 31, was killed at the spot and Sumam Hossain Abd Kashem, 28, died at the Tapah Hospital while another Bangladeshi, Alif Hossain Bahar Ali, 25, suffered a neck injury, according to Bernama.

S. Lechumanan, 34, the driver of the lorry that the three Bangladeshis were travelling in, fractured his hand when his lorry crashed into the rear of a trailer that was parked by the road side.

After crashing into the trailer, the lorry lost control and swerved into another lane before crashing into another car.

Tapah police chief Supt Som Sak Din Keliaw said the lorry driven by Lechumanan was heading to Penang from Shah Alam when the accident happened.

He said when the lorry crashed into the trailer, Delohar Hossin was thrown off the lorry while Sumam was pinned to the passengers seat.

Meanwhile, the injured Alif Hossain who was initially admitted to the Tapah Hospital was later transferred to the Teluk Intan Hospital for treatment.
