Two workers were killed under steel plates when chains of a steel mill crane broke on Sunday in the capital's Jatrabari area.
Several others also sustained injuries.
Witnesses said two others were injured in the incident at the Shahriar Mill and Re-rolling Mill on Konapara in the Golden Bridge area at 6am.
The deceased were identified as Mohammad Jalal, 25, and Mohammad Atik, 28.
Both died on the spot.
The injured were whisked off to Midford Hospital immediately, locals said.
