Jamaat-e-Islami has announced to end its hartal schedule at 4pm Thursday instead of 6pm considering a plea from the hindu community.
In a statement, the party’s Secretary General (in-charge) Rafiqul Islam Khan said the decision was made after the party had received a plea from the hindu community, asking it to consider relaxing the countrywide shutdown in order to observe the community’s Rath Yatra festival peacefully.
“Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami decided to end its Thursday’s hartal at 4pm considering hindu community’s request to relax it,” the statement reads.
