Ganajagaran’s activists sit Shahbagh to protest Jamaat’shartal

Ganajagaran Mancha, a platform of youths and bloggers, will persist a sit-in at the Shahbagh intersection in the capital from Sunday evening to Monday dusk, protesting against the Jamaat-e-Islam sponsored Monday’s countrywide hartal.

Imran H Sarker, the spokesperson of Ganajagaran Mancha, said they would gather at Shahbagh to press home their longstanding demand for the capital punishment to one of the war crimes suspect Ghulam Azam.

On Sunday, the International Crimes Tribunal 1 set Monday to pronounce its verdict against former Jamaat chief GhulamAzam for his alleged involvement in the crimes against humanity, and war crimes during the 1971 Liberation War.

Apart from sit-in session, the activists of Ganajagaran Mancha will bring out procession and hold rally to drum put public support on favour of their demand, added Imran.

The Ganajagaran Mancha was set up in February this year when hundreds of thousands people started gathering at Shahbagh intersection regularly demanding capital punishment to the war criminals.
