Nasaka detains 20 fishermen from Naf

Myanmar border security forces Nasaka detained twenty fishermen and six boats from the Naf River of Teknaf upazila, Cox’s Bazar on Friday.
Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and local sources said the fishermen went fishing on the previous night and entered into the territory of Myanmar around 10:30pm by mistake due to bad weather.
Being informed of the instance, Ramzan Ali, with his trawler, went to rescue them.
Ramzan said officials of Nasaka detained the fishermen while they were returning home.
The family members of the fishermen informed the local police of the incident.
Subedar Md Jakariya of Teknaf BGB said they were aware of the matter and they would take necessary steps in this regard.
Lt Col Md Zahid Hasan of 42 BGB Battalion of Teknaf said: “We have sent a letter to Nasaka today [yesterday] in the morning for a flag meeting.”
