9-foot Python captured in Kurigram

A 9 foot long python was reported captured from the Dharla River at Fulbari, Kurigram Saturday.

Locals said the snake might have come from upstream with the floodwater, adding that Mohi Ali, a resident of Khochabari village, first saw the snake in a Bamboo bush near Taltola bridge.

On receiving the news, hundreds of interested people gathered at the spot to see the python. Later, local snake charmer Chan Mia captured the python, they added.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer Sheikh Mohammad Belayet Hossain visited the spot to recover the snake. He said Chan Mia was in hiding with the snake, adding that efforts were on to recover it from him.
