Veteran Bollywood actor Pran Krishan Sikand, known as only Pran, died last night in Mumbai. He was 93.
Pran, a beloved star of a number of hit Hindi movies such as Half Ticket, Ram aur Shyam, Zanjeer, Johny Mera Naam, Karz was awarded with Dadasaheb Phalke this year.
Pran had been unwell for the past few years. He was admitted to Lilawati Hospital a few days back, reports the Hindu.
Pran is credited for bringing importance to the villain’s role as that of the hero’s. During the ’70s, Pran was a part of almost every major hit Hindi film and was said to be often paid more than lead actors.
