The Bangladesh Petroleum Exploration and Production Company (Bapex) yesterday started supplying 25mmcfd per day gas from Srikail well 3 to the national grid.
The gas production from Srikail field increased to 50 million cubic metres per day after producing gas from the well, Petrobangla Director M Quamruzzaman told BSS.
He said the gas production will start from Titas well 20 next month. “We have a plan to reach gas production over 3,000mmcfd in Ramadan,” he said.
Industries, power generation, fertiliser production and other sectors were affected badly due to shortage of gas.
