Custom officials seized 25.3kg gold from an aircraft of Biman Bangladesh Airlines right after it landed on Saturday afternoon.
Acting on a tip off, custom officials of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport raided aircraft No 044, coming from Kuwait, shortly after it landed around 1:30pm, said Sheikh Golam Mostafa Kamal, assistant commissioner of custom department.
The officials recovered 217 gold bars packed in three separate bags sewn to the underside of a passenger seat. The estimated price of the gold is Tk90,000,000.
No one has been arrested in connection to this incident.
