Bangladesh has been closely following the latest round of events culminating in a political transition in Egypt.
A foreign ministry press release on Friday said Bangladesh earnestly wished that all political forces in Egypt would follow maximum restraint to avert further violence and disorder in public life.
It said Bangladesh urged all parties to uphold the rule of law and the constitutional process. It also hoped that the transition towards a full-blown democratic dispensation would be well-planned, swift and inclusive, and the process would reflect the wishes of the great people of Egypt.
Bangladesh attaches great importance to its bilateral relations with Egypt and hopes that the relations will continue to grow in every possible area of cooperation to the mutual benefit of the two peoples.
