A policeman was killed as a bus ran over him in the bus stand area of the district town on Tuesday morning’ reports UNB.
The deceased was identified as Habibur Rahman Bishwas, a constable of Manikganj Sadar Police Station and resident of Kaori village of Harirampur upazila of Manikgang.
Witnesses said Habibur slipped off a bus while getting on it for going to Savar from Manikganj town at about 7am and at that moment another bus of ‘Hanif Paribahan’ bound for Dhaka crushed into him, leaving him dead on the spot.
On information, Manikganj Sadar thana police recovered the body and sent it to the district Sadar hospital morgue for autopsy.
However, Savar thana police seized the bus and its driver.
