Drama series “Gronthikgon Kohe” airs tonight on Channel 9 at 7:40pm. The drama is written by iconic playwright Selim Al Din and directed by Badrul Anam Soud. The star studded series features Raisul Islam Asad, Subarna Mostafa, Bonna Mirza, Saju Khadem, Jitu Ahsan, Samapty Mashuk, Afroza Banu, Subhashish Bhoumik, Sanjida Preety, Rijvi, Majnun Mizan, Shorna, Dinar, Deepa Khandaker and many more.
The drama series is about the lifestyle and struggle of Jatra(traditional theatre form) artistes. Following the traditional performing art form, Al Deen’s narrative illustrates the difficulties and challenges faced by the artistes in the performing arts arena both in the past and present era.
While their presence on stage seems to be filled with colours, the reality behind the scene is completely opposite. They are neglected and often abused by the “mainstream” people of the society. Though people get entertained by their performances, hardly they give any respect to the artistes. The story represents the dark chapters of our society and portrays a touching performance that shows the struggle of the artistes for real.
