An elderly man along with his son was killed and 15 others were injured in a clash over land dispute at Gholkhar village under Akhaura Upazila in Brahmanbaria district on Tuesday night.
The deceased were identified as Golap Khan and his son Ismail Khan, a student of class nine of Gholkhar high school, reports banglanews24.com.
Gholkhar police outpost SI Enamul Haque said: “Two groups of locals backed by Asmat Ali and Rusmat Ali locked into a fierce clash over a dispute of residence boundary on Tuesday night, leaving 17 people, including Golap and Ismail injured.”
Critically injured Golap and Ismail were rushed to Brahmanbaria Sadar Hospital. Later, they were shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where they succumbed to their injuries at around 2:30am.
Family sources said, Golap Khan’s son Mujibur Khan and his daughter Masuda Khanom were admitted to Comilla Combined Military Hospital while others were sent to Brahmanbaria District Sadar Hospital.
Mujibur and Masuda are also in critical condition, hospital sources said.
