Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) is going to organise country's first ever "IT Marketing Forum" which will be held on July 8, aimed at major expansion of ICT through building awareness.
BASIS is organising such kind of event to groom the country's IT professionals on branding, as they would be learned by the marketing gurus and experts from the daylong event that would be taken place at the Radisson Blu Water Garden Hotel, said Russell T Ahmed, convener of the IT marketing forum at a press conference at BASIS conference Room on Saturday.
"Despite having immense potentiality of the country's IT market, it is missing the spot light and exposure, which would possible to be minimized creating "brand identity", as the industry size is estimated $ 400m," added Ahmed, also the secretary general of BASIS.
He informed the industry has an approximately 70,000 professionals, majority IT and other graduates, adding, "We have another $ 400b global market for IT."
"Although this sector is rising rapidly but, in comparison with the other countries, this number is very low and one of the major reasons behind this slow expansion is the lack of knowledge, demonstration capability, marketing knowledge, etc," added Ahmed.
Understanding this need, BASIS is organising the "IT Marketing Forum" where IT-loving people expect to hear from renowned marketing gurus from home and abroad, reports BSS.
The day is designed in four sessions - "Marketing and Communication for IT Industry", "Marketing; an Investment or Expenditure?, "The Power of IT Brands", "Bangladesh Next: The Context of Country Branding".
Brand experts of top international and local brands including Google, Yahoo, Grey, Kaspersky, GP IT, Airtel, The Daily Star, bKash to share their views and experiences in these four sessions.
