Five incumbent and former leaders of Jessore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) have been sued on charge of deceiving a business establishment.
Owner of Masers Jesco Traders of the town SM Mustafizur Rahman filed the case against the five JCCI leaders with the Jessore Senior Judicial Magistrate Court, reports UNB.
The accused are president of Jessore JCCI Mijanur Rahman Khan, its general secretary Badruzzaman Babul, treasure SM Shamim Uddin, its former president Shahidul Islam Milon and former treasure Rafiqur Rahman Toton.
The court has already ordered issuing arrest warrant against the accused.
According to the case statement, the chamber authorities bought construction materials worth Tk67,000 for a new building from Masers Jesco Traders in 2012.
The then committee of the camber gave a cheque of Prime Bank’s Jessore town branch against the amount to the Jesco Traders owner on April 2, 2012.
On May 16, when Mustafizur Rahman went to the bank for cash withdrawal, the bank authorities refused to give the money showing reason for the chamber’s present committee’s approval.
Mustafizur Rahman filed the case against the five JCCI leaders as the bank authorities refused to give him the money once again on June 16.
