Some 296 unarmed sub-inspectors (SIs) were elevated to the rank of Inspector and given new postings on Wednesday, according to a UNB .
All of the newly promoted police officials were asked to take departure letters from their present workplaces and join the new ones by June 22, said sources at the Police Headquarters on Thursday.
If they fail to take the departure letters within the period, they will be considered ‘stand released’ from their present workplaces from June 23, added the sources.
