Bradley Cooper makes TV series about ISIS

Joby Warrick’s 2016 Pulitzer Prize-winning book, Black Flags: The Rise of ISIS chronicles the formation of the jihadi extremists outfit and its transformation, into the international terrorist organisation with ambition of world domination. The book follows its origins in a remote Jordanian prison to its advances in Syria. The non-fiction book also recorded the activities of a small group of American and international agents working to destroy ISIS. Cooper is developing the miniseries for HBO through his production company, HBO reported. It will dramatise events in the book. Joby Warrick, who is a national security reporter at the Washington Post, commented that the series would aim to “explain, educate and help clarify issues about the group and its motivations.” Warrick had also discussed the subject with Cooper, and thinks that this subject was of immediate and utmost importance to American citizens. “It’s entertainment but it’s not purely entertainment,” Warrick said on Friday. “The story is in good hands,” Warrick commented. He said that Cooper and partner producer, Todd Phillips had visited him at his home outside of Washington, DC earlier this year to pitch their idea. Cooper and Phillips formed their production company, Joint Effort, in 2014. A project of the production company called War Dogs is set to be released this August. It is a comedy about arms dealers in Afghanistan and stars Bradley Cooper.
