A Dhaka court on Sunday ordered four days of remand to four owners of the garments housed in Rana Plaza before it collapsed on April 24.
Investigative officer ASP Bijay Krishna Dhar produced them before the court and made a plea for seven days' remand in connection with a murder case.
The accused are Aminur Islam, chairman of Phantom Apparels and Phantom Tec, Anisur Rahman, owner Of Eathertec, Bazlussamad Adnan, chairman of New Web Bottom Limited, and Mahmudur Rahman Tapash, managing director of New Web Bottom Limited.
Dhaka Senior Judicial magistrate Toybul Hasan granted four day’s remand in police custody for the four accused, rejecting a bail petition submitted by the defence lawyer.
The murder case was filed on April 25, a day after the Rana Plaza collapse, with the Savar police station. Sub Inspector Wali Ashraf Khan had filed the case in which the four apparel businessmen were later shown arrested.
