Three people were killed and four others injured as a private car crashed into a truck on the Dhaka-Aricha Highway at RCL intersection near Paturia ghat in Shibalaya upazila early Saturday, reports UNB. The deceased were identified as Samrat, 28, driver of the car and resident of Madhabpur village in Singair upazila, Alauddin,30, of the same upazila, and Parvez, 25, of Keraniganj in Dhaka. Abul Kalam Azad, officer-in-charge of Shibaloy thana, said the accident took place in the area shortly after midnight when a Paturia-bound station wagon losing control crashed into the back of the stationary truck on the road, leaving the three people dead on the spot and the four injured. All the dead and injured were passengers of the car that smashed into a ball after the crash. The injured were rushed to Utholi Upazila Health Complex and then shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
