Bangamata’s birthday observed

On the Occasion, Sheikh Hasina unveiled the cover of a book in her memory at Ganabhaban. The book, whose Bengali title means Remembering Bangamata Fajilatunnesa Mujib with Love and Respect, was published by Awami Jubo League. Jubo League Chairman Omar Faruk Chowdhury is the book’s editor, reported UNB. Recalling Bangamata’s contributions in establishing an independent Bangladesh, Hasina said she had always inspired and encouraged Bangabandhu in taking the right decisions in every crucial moment of the nation. Bangamata was killed along with Bangabandhu and most of her family members on August 15, 1975. Her daughters Sheikh Hasina and Sheikh Rehana survived the massacre as they were abroad at the time.
