Two Bangladeshis returned from Maldives for forgery visas Rabiul Islam Two Bangladeshis were deported from Maldives as their visas were forged, says an official of Shahjalal International Airport. The official said the migrant went to Maldives with immigration clearance from Bureau of Manpower Employment and Training (BMET). “I Went to Maldives through middleman (Hasan) to work by spending Tk 1,90,000,” Md Arshad, hailed from Tangail, told the Dhaka Tribune over phone from airport on Saturday. Arshad says his passport no-AF 2225150 and he went to Maldives to join work on May 7, 2013. “Many people from our locality have gone to Maldives and I encouraged to go and work there but after going to Maldives, I see my visa is not proper,”Arshad said adding he was caught by police and had to remain in the jail and he was sent back. The airport official said the identity of another Bangladeshi is yet to be identified. “We are also concerned that the visa of Maldives cannot be checked and we give clearance for guarantors,” BMET director (immigration) Mizanur Rahman told the Dhaka Tribune over phone on Saturday. He also said visas of Maldives cannot be checked online. BMET gives immigration clearance after checking visas whether it is true or forge. Ends/25/05/2013
