Three people were killed and five others injured in two separate road accidents in Pabna Sadar upazila early Sunday and on Saturday night, reports UNB.
Two people were killed and four others injured as a human hauler carrying them fell into a roadside ditch at Tetultala in the upazila early Sunday.
The deceased were identified as Rostom Ali, 38, of Dewanganj upazila of Jamalpur district, and Mominul Islam,30, of Ishwardi upazila of Pabna.
Police and witnesses said the human hauler from Tebunia fell into a ditch as its driver lost control over the steering at about 2.30am, leaving its six passengers critically injured.
They were admitted to Ishwardi hospital where Rostom and Mominul succumbed to their injuries.
In another accident, a bicyclist named Golam Azam, 35, sustained severe injuries when a motorcycle from Ishwardi hit his bicycle at Dulti Bazar on the Ishwardi-Dashuria road at 11pm on Saturday.
The motorcycle also fell into a roadside ditch leaving its rider severally injured.
Golam Azam along with the motorcyclist was rushed to Ishwardi Hospital where attending doctor declared Golam Azam dead.
Two separate cases were filed in this connection.
