In this male-dominated film industry, Tonmoy Tahseen is stepping out of the box by assigning Bidya Sinha Saha Mim as the lead actor of his remake of the film “Poddo Patar Jol.” The other major roles of the film are played out by Amit Hasan and Imon.
The setting of the film “Poddo Patar Jol” is from colonial times, it is a love triangle where a simple aspiring poet settles in town for his higher studies and falls in love with a court dancer. Another man with a higher social pedigree also falls in love with the impeccable beauty in question and hence the feud for love begins.
“I prefer working in films with innovative storyline, and films set in a different era hold much appeal to me. This film provided me the opportunity to play a character I have never dared before, a beautiful court dancer caught in a power-struggle of love,” reveals Mim on a rendezvous with Dhaka Tribune.
She also states that it took a great deal of hard-work on her part to carry out such a bold character and the hardest part was portraying the contrast between the emotion and boldness of women dancers of the Mughal period.
