At least six people were killed and 30 others remained missing as a sea-truck capsized in Meghna River near Hatia Upazila of Noakhali on Sunday morning
50 others were injured in the incident that took place at around 11am, Banglanews24 reported quoting Hatia Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mahidul Islam.
The identity of the deceased couldn’t be known till filing of the report at 3:45pm.
“The sea-truck named Salam sank during a storm near Nalchira ghat in the upazila and rescue operation is underway with the help of locals, police and coast guards,” the UNO told the news agency at around 2:30pm.
