Train communications of the port city of Chittagong with the rest of the country remained suspended for six hours as a Chittagong-bound intercity train derailed at Gobindapur in Comilla on Wednesday morning.
However, train communications were restored at about 6pm. There was no report of any casualty, reports UNB.
Irfanul Islam, assistant executive engineer of Comilla railway, said a bogie of the Chittagong-bound ‘Jalalabad Express’ coming from Sylhet veered off the tracks around 11:45am, disrupting the train communications of Chittagong with Dhaka, Sylhet and Mymensingh.
Meanwhile, Chittagong-bound ‘Mohanagar Provati’ from Dhaka got stranded in Comilla while Dhaka-bound ‘Chattala Express’ at Laksham.
