PM returns home on October 7

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, also the Awami League president, will return home on October 7, wrapping up her 22-day official visit to New York to attend 72nd Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). “The premier was scheduled to return on October 2, but the date had to change due to her gallbladder surgery,” Awami League Deputy Office Secretary Biplab Barua told the Dhaka Tribune on Saturday. On September 25, Sheikh Hasina underwent gallbladder surgery at a US hospital following a sudden pain, when she went to visit her son Sajeeb Wazed Joy and his family in Virginia, after attending the UNGA. The premier left the country on September 16 for New York.
