The cabinet has given the final approval to the draft of “The Bangladesh Civil Aviation Authority Act, 2016” with a view to making the existing law time–befitting.
The approval came at the Monday’s regular cabinet meeting held at Bangladesh Secretariat with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.
After the meeting, Cabinet Secretary Shafiul Alam told the reporters that a governing body, to be handled by the civil aviation minister, would be formed.
Other members of the body would be the secretary of civil aviation, and representatives from the foreign, finance and law ministries.
The cabinet secretary also said the draft of "The Accreditation Council Law, 2016" has been endorsed in principle to maintain standards of high quality at universities in the country.
He added Bangladesh Railway has decided to form a container service company in a bid to increase revenue by carrying more goods. A share of the company will go to the stock market.
