The Meteorological department has issued a cautionary signal no 2 in the inland river ports due to temporary west or north-westerly squalls.
West or north-westerly squalls are likely to occur at places in Rangpur, Dinajpur, Pabna, Bogra, Rajshahi, Tangail, Mymensingh, Sylhet and Comilla, with a speed of 60-80 km per hour.
River ports in the rest of the country have been asked to hoist cautionary signal no 1, said a Met office bulletin.
The Met department also issued a "Kalbaishakhi Warning" for places in Rangpur, Pabna, Bogra, Tangail, Mymensingh, Faridpur, Dhaka, Jessore, Kushtia, Khulna, Barisal, Noakhali, Comilla and Sylhet.
