A road march of Gonojagoron Moncho has started journey towards Comilla to protest the rape and murder of Comilla Victoria College student Sohagi Jahan Tonu.
Moncho activists started the road march from Shahbagh around 10am Sunday.
The pro-liberation platform has been demonstrating at Shahbagh for the last couple of days demanding punishment of the killers of Tonu.
"People from the whole country have raised voice demanding the trial of Tonu murder. However, the movement of common people in Comilla is being hindered," Moncho spokesperson Imran H Sarkar said at the start of the road march.
He said: "We express our soliderity with the people of Comilla through this road march. Our road march is being held against the current situation of killings and rapes across the country."

The body of theatre activist Tonu, a second year history student of Victoria College, was found only 100 yards from their house inside the cantonment around 10pm on March 20. She was reportedly raped before being murdered while returning home from tuition.
Her father, Yaar Hossain, an office assistant of the Cantonment Board, filed a case with the Kotwali police the next day against some unidentified people.
Students and people from all walks of life including cultural activists have been demonstrating in Comilla, Dhaka and elsewhere demanding that the culprits be arrested immediately and given exemplary punishment. They are also campaigning on Facebook and blogs.
