The government has nominated noted poet Nirmalendu Goon for Swadhinata Padak (Independence Award) 2016 in recognition of his contribution to the field
of literature.
Besides, 13 other distinguished persons and an organisation were also named for the award in recognition of their outstanding contributions in respective fields.
