Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-7) has submitted charge sheet against 11 members of Chittagong based militant outfit Shaheed Hamza Brigade (SHB) in a case filed over the recovery of huge quantity of explosives from the city’s Halishahar area last year.
RAB-7 Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Md Jalal Uddin Ahmed submitted the charge sheet to the court of metropolitan magistrate on Wednesday night.
The charge sheeted accused are Faizul Haque, his younger brother Azizul Haque, sister Rahima Akhtar, nephew Jayedullah, Abdul Hai, Chittagong SHB’s military wing chief Moniruzzaman alias Don, Anwar Hossen, Md Shamsuddin, Rakib Hasan, Nasir Uddin Khan and Md Parvej.
RAB had busted the newly formed outfit’s explosive warehouse at a flat of Golden Residential area at Halishahar in Chittagong city on February 29, 2015. Huge quantity of bomb making materials, 76 powerful bombs, 150 kilograms of explosives, 30 kinds of bomb making materials were recovered during the drive.
The elite force members arrested four persons -- Faizul Haque, his sister Rahima Akhter, Faizul’s nephew Jayedullah and their relative Abdul Hai from the spot.
RAB-7’s Assistant Director AG Rabbani lodged a case under Anti Terrorism Act with Halishahar police station on the following day.
After filling the case, Halishahar police station’s Sub-Inspector (SI) Jamir Uddin had conducted the investigation. The case was later handed over to RAB 7.
