Bank and Financial Division Secretary Dr Aslam Alam has been made an officer on special duty (OSD) over the cyber heist of $81 million foreign reserve of Bangladesh Bank’s account with Federal Reserve Bank of New York.
Public Administration Ministry published a gazette notification in this regard on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the government has sacked two of the deputy governors of Bangladesh Bank over the cyber heist of $81 million foreign reserve.
“Two BB deputy governors - Dr Naznin Sultana and Abul Kashem - were sacked on Tuesday,” said Finance Minister AMA Muhith.
The move was made immediate after Atiur stepped down as Bangladesh Bank governor over the recent hacking of BB's reserve fund.
Atiur Rahman resigned as Bangladesh Bank governor following the money hacking in the morning.
