Finance Minister AMA Muhith has cancelled the press conference scheduled to be held at 2:30pm Tuesday over the hacking of Bangladesh Bank's reserve fund.
Muhith’s Personal Secretary MM Zakiria Haque told the Dhaka Tribune about the cancellation of the media breifing on Tuesday morning.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh Bank Governor Atiur Rahman has resigned from his post in the wake of the recent hacking of the central bank's reserve fund.
He submitted the resignation letter to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at PMO on Tuesday morning, said PM's press secretary Ihsanul Karim.
On February 4, hackers stole more than $80 million from Bangladesh Bank’s account with the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and wired it to bank accounts in the Philippines.
