Japan-BD Hospital hearing deferred

A private hospital in the city accused of keeping a lifeless child in the ICU to extract money from its parents has sought time from the High Court to explain its actions.

Dr Junayed Shafique and Dr Nayeem Ahmed, respectively the chairman and the managing director of Japan Bangladesh Friendship Hospital, appeared before a High Court bench yesterday.

The court ordered them to appear again on March 27 after they sought more time.

The bench of Justice Moazzem Hossain and Justice Bodruzzaman also ordered RAB to submit the case documents related to the incident.
