The nationwide Bangla Tribune opinion poll among 4,800 women from across the country has found that a large number of women in Bangladesh cannot visit their preferred destinations freely.
Asked whether they can visit their preferred places freely, 38.31% of the respondents said no while 31.31% said yes.
The problem seemed to prevail equally among rural and urban women. Of those interviewed, nearly 40% of rural women and 38% of urban women gave negative answer to the question. On the other hand, 31.04% of rural women and 31.58% of urban women said yes.
