Dhaka-Mymensingh rail link snapped for 6 hrs

Train communication in the Dhaka-Mymensingh route remained suspended for six hours after a train collided with a truck at Kewatkhali rail crossing yesterday morning.

Officer-in charge of GRP Police Station Ahad Ali said Dhaka-bound passenger train ‘Bhawal-56’ hit a truck at Kewatkhali rail crossing on Dhaka- Mymensingh Highway around 6am.

The driver and the helper of the truck were injured in this incident.

They were sent to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital. A tailback was created in Dhaka-Mymensingh route as some trains got stuck on both side of the rail track.

The train communication resumed around 12am.
