“Acknowledging the matter, the minister asked him [Asgor] to bring it to her flat in the Ramna Apartment Complex. The little cat has been named Felu by the minister and has finally become a member of her family.”

The minister called a veterinary doctor for Felu's check up as it had received small injuries to its back, said the PS. “The male cat is completely fine now and is enjoying the company of a female cat, Nilu, another of the minister's pets.”

The cat was rescued from near the top of a tree at the secretariat in the capital on Thursday, three days after it climbed the tree.

Witnesses said the cat climbed up the towering tree on Tuesday after being chased by the dogs living on the premises.

Later, members of the Fire Service and Civil Defence with the help of the employees of the secretariat rescued it from a branch approximately 30 feet above the ground and released it safely in the building on Thursday afternoon.
