The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent (IFRC) has hououred Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for her outstanding role in disaster management.
IFRC Secretary General Elhadj As Sey has formally handed over certificate and crest to the premier at a simple ceremony at her official Ganobhaban residence on Sunday, reports BSS.
However, a press release of the Prime Minister's Press Wing made the disclosure on Tuesday.
At the function, the IFRC secretary general highly appreciated Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for her leading role in the global efforts for developing 100 crore "disaster-hit people" of the world as "more tolerant" to disaster by 2025.
Director of the IFRC Asia Pacific Region Xavier Castellanos, Chairman of Bangladesh Red Crescent Society Hafiz Ahmed Mazumdar and Vice-Chairman Dr Habibe Millat, MP, were present on the occasion, among others.
