A Habiganj court has sentenced a person to death on charge of killing an eight-year-old boy in the district eight years ago.
Additional District and Sessions' Judge Mafroza Parvin pronounced the verdict on Tuesday afternoon.
The convict is Abdur Rashid, of Baniachang upazila.
Mehedi Hasan Rasel, son of Abdul Hamid, was killed by Abdur Rashid on October 8, 2007.
Victim's mother Shopna Begum filed a murder case on October 10.
Police submitted charge sheet against three accused after investigation.
The court, however, acquitted two other accused as they were found not guilty.
