Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said she was the worst victim of media despite of her government's effort in providing requisite opportunity for “massive media expansion” in the country.
She said: “Our government has allowed the setting up of a number of print and electronic media outlets in the country by providing requisite opportunities. But ironically, I have become the worst victim of the media.”

She came up with the assertion while delivering her winding-up speech of Monday's parliament session.
Noting that The Daily Star and the Prothom Alo continuously write reports against her, the premier said: “I have stopped reading The Daily Star and Prothom Alo as I lost my faith in those newspapers.
“I never touched those national dailies after my release from jail.”
Binning the claim that the government is squeezing the media, she said: “We do not control the mass media and the people can say anything they think about the current situation of the country in both print and electronic media.”
Referring to the false reports published against her in The Daily Star and Prothom Alo, she said: “Truth cannot be long hidden.”
