Some 302,904 posts have remained vacant with different ministries, divisions and offices of the government.
Replying to a query, Public Administration Minister Syed Ashraful Islam on Monday told the parliament that 302,904 government posts remained vacant till December 2014 and the process of updating the information of vacant list was going on.
Of the total vacant posts, 39,000 are first class, 30,422 second class, 163,417 fourth class and 69,501 fifth class, said the minister.
Replying to another query, the minister said currently there are 187 OSD officials.
Of the OSD officials, two are secretaries, 17 are additional secretaries, 72 are joint secretaries, 45 are deputy secretaries, 35 are senior assistant secretaries and 16 are assistant secretaries, he continued.
The minister further said the government does not have any plan to increase the job entry age to 35 from 30.
