IFRC secy gen to inaugurate One Billion Coalition for Resilience

El Hadji Amadou Gueye Sy, secretary general of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), is coming to Bangladesh today on a two-day visit.

Apart from inaugurating a the national launch of a programme titled “One Billion Coalition for Resilience,” the IFRC secretary general will also make courtesy calls to the prime minister, parliament speaker and several ministers.

He will meet Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at 6:30pm today. At 10am tomorrow, he will deliver a speech on “Changing Humanitarian Context: Role of Red Cross and Red Crescent” at the Nabab Nawab Ali Senate Building of Dhaka University.

At 12 noon tomorrow, the IFRC secretary general will inaugurate the national launch of the One Million Coalition for Resilience at the auditorium of the Holy Family Red Crescent Medical College at Easkaton in Dhaka.

He will leave Bangladesh in the early hours of March 1.
