A 10 day solo exhibition of Spanish artist Esperanza Romero titled Unknown Spirit was inaugurated at the Gallery Cosmos-2 in the capital’s Mohakhali DOHS area on February 20, Saturday.
Nazim Farhan Choudhury, managing director of Adcomm, Amparo Porta, head of Inditex chair of Spanish Language and Culture, Dhaka University and eminent artist Shahid Kabir inaugurated the exhibition while Kalidas Kormokar and Monirul Islam were also present.
Art patron Nevine Sultana organised the event.
Shahid Kabir said the works were poetic and the artist worked very methodically.
A number of Spanish expatriates living in Bangladesh gathered at the inaugural session.
Romero’s work includes the Unknown Spirit series, Migration 2, Mirando la tarde, Bandada de Pajaro, Narcissus and Icarus.
Esperanza Romero obtained a BA degree from the Camberwell School of Art, London, and a Master’s Degree from the Royal College of Art. She started an international career with exhibitions in France, Holland, Germany, United Kingdom, Spain, China, Italy, India and Japan.
The exhibition will remain open from 12pm to 8pm until February 29.
