Mir Quasem appeal verdict March 8
The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court has fixed March 8 for delivering its verdict in the appeal case of condemned Jamaat leader Mir Quasem Ali.
A five-member panel headed by Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha fixed the date on Wednesday afternoon.
Plane with 23 on board missing in Nepal
A small plane with 23 people including two foreigners on board and flying in poor visibility over mountainous terrain in Nepal on Wednesday is missing and officials fear it has crashed.
Airport official Yogendra Kuwar said the plane was on an 18-minute flight Wednesday, but lost contact after takeoff. He said there were no landing strips between the two airports the plane was flying between and it is believed to have crashed.
2 Bangladeshi students killed in Australia road crash
Two Bangladeshi students have been killed and another has been critically injured in a fatal road accident in Belmore of Sydney, said police.
A resident reported hearing a loud skid before the vehicle smashed into a power pole on Canterbury Road in Belmore about 3.40am on Wednesday (Australia Time), reports the smh.com.au.
One killed in Dhaka New Market fire
A person has been killed and three others have received burn injuries in a fire that broke out at shop adjacent to the vegetable market in the capital's New Market area.
The deceased is Amzad, 30.
Trump wins Nevada GOP caucuses
Taking another step toward the Republican presidential nomination, Donald Trumpswept to victory Tuesday in Nevada's Republican caucuses, winning his third consecutive contest.
“We are going to have, hopefully, a historic night,” Trump had said during a visit to a caucus site earlier in the evening, looking for a victory to follow up his easy wins in the South Carolina and New Hampshire primaries. “I appreciate everybody being here."
