The cabinet has approved the new pay scale for the members of the judicial service in the light of the National Pay Scale 2015.
The approval was given in the regular meeting of the cabinet held at the secretariat with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.
After the meeting, Cabinet Secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam briefed the reporters on Monday afternoon.
According to the new pay scale, the salary of a senior district judge will be equivalent to the salary of a secretary. Their new pay scale will be Tk78,000 from previous Tk40,000.
Scale of the district judge will be from Tk70,925 to Tk76,350 from the scale of 2009 when it was from Tk36,000 to Tk39,600.
The new pay scale of the judges would be effective at the same time and rules of the national pay scale, the cabinet secretary said.
They would get new salary from July 2015 and other allowances from July 2016 as like as civil servants.
