A police man was killed by a bullet suddenly came out of the gun of his colleague at New Sukhi Nilganj Police Lines in the district headquarters yesterday.
The deceased was Purno Barua, son of Shekhar Barua of Raojan.
Police sources said Purno Barua and Swarup Barua were on duty at Nilganj police lines. In the afternoon, a bullet came out suddenly from Swarup’s gun and hit Purno.
Purno was rushed to Rangamati Sadar Hospital where on duty doctor declared him dead.
Rangamati Sadar Hospital’s on duty doctor Dr Wahedur Rahman said Purno received the bullet near his kidney and died due to excessive loss of blood.
