On-duty DB inspector injured in criminals' attack

An inspector of Detective Branch of Police has sustained severe injuries when a gang of suspected militants attacked the law enforcers during a drive in the capital's Badda area.

The injured DB official is Bahauddin Faruque.

Mozammel Hossain, camp in-charge of Dhaka Medical College Hospital police outpost, told the Dhaka Tribune: “Acting on an information provided by a suspected militant, who was arrested earlier, a team of detectives raided Badda's Satarkul GM Bari area on Friday evening.

“Sensing the presence of the law enforcers, the gang of the militants attacked them with sharp weapons, leaving Bahauddin critically injured. Later, he was admitted to the DMCH.”

The DB members picked one suspected militant up from the spot while the rest managed to flee, said DB officials. They said operation is underway to arrest the criminals.
