Police have recovered the body of a four-year-old boy from Kashimpur Surabari area two days after his abduction from Gazipur.
Solaiman, son of Mokarram Hossain Akmat of Bhenuarchar area, went missing on Saturday.
Later, his body was recovered from a jungle in Kashimpur Surabari area around 8am Monday.
Chakraborty police outpost In-Charge SI Saiful Islam said: “On information from the locals, we went to the spot and recovered the body from the jungle in Kashimpur Surabari area and sent it to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.”
He said Solaiman's family members went to the morgue and identified his body at night.
The SI said: “He might have been suffocated to death. Several injury marks have been found on his body.”
Deceased's father Mokarram said: “Solaiman came of home for my shop around 5pm Saturday and since then he remained missing. Someone called me over the mobile phone seeking for a ransom of Tk1.5 lakh at that night to buy freedom of my son.”
Mokarrom said he had filed a case with Joydebpur police station regarding the matter on Sunday.
