Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) is going to host a mass Dhaka city clean-up programme on Valentine's Day, the 14th of February.
In this regard, a concern entitled "Love for Dhaka" will be held in the capital’s Shahbagh.
The daylong programme will begin at 9:30am and will continue till 5pm, said DSCC Public Relations Officer Uttam Kumar Roy.
The programme includes art competition, dance, song, drama, he added.
While talking to journalists on Saturday, DSCC Mayor Sayeed Khokon said: “With the event, I want to express my love for the city. I urge everybody to participate.”
To make the initiative a success, the authorities will get help from voluntary organisations, he added.
Following the occasion, the vehicular movement in Shahbagh area will be kept halt from 9:30am to 5pm, said Shahbagh OC Abu Bakar Siddiqui.
DSCC Mayor Sayeed Khokon and Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor AAMS Arefin Siddique, noted artistes will attend the event.
