Police have detained six suspected robbers with a pipe gun and two rounds of bullets from Homna upazila in Comilla.
The detainees are Akash, 23, Shofiqul Islam, 24, Shumon, 25, Kobir Hossain, 25, Md Alam, 35, and Rabiul Hassan, 29.
Homna OC Abul Foisal said: “We signaled two CNG-run autorickshaws to stop at Gouripur on Wednesday midnight but they attempted to speed away.”
He said four police officials including OC Abul Faisal were injured in a scuffle when they tried to stop the suspected robbers from fleeing the scene.
Meanwhile, police recovered a pipe gun, two rounds of bullets and some local weapons from their possession.
Later, they were taken to the police station for interrogation.
